Hennessey Venom F5
The Hennessey Venom F5 confidently tops this list, rightfully taking first place among the fastest cars in the world. The American company spent years developing this supercar, resulting in the unique Hennessey Venom F5. It features an innovative lightweight carbon fiber chassis and a 7.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine under the hood. This powerhouse allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a record-setting 1.7 seconds, and reach 400 km/h in just 20 seconds. The Hennessey Venom F5 is an upgraded version of the previous Venom GT — now even more powerful, advanced, and aerodynamic. The car is equipped with a carbon fiber body, a 6-speed manual gearbox, and a single-clutch robotic transmission option. A wide range of additional features is available at a price of nearly $500,000.
Koenigsegg Agera RS
This luxurious hypercar, developed by the Swedish company Koenigsegg, can rival even the most well-known automotive brands. The Agera RS holds records in three categories: the fastest production car, the fastest car on a public road, and the fastest from 0 to 400 km/h and back to 0. It’s powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, paired with a 7-speed automated transmission and dual clutches. With an impressive 1,300 horsepower, the Agera RS accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2 seconds. Advanced components give this car not only extreme speed but also remarkable endurance.
Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
The legendary Bugatti brand long held a monopoly in the world of high-performance automotive engineering. While that dominance has faded, Bugatti vehicles remain among the fastest on the planet. One standout is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. The showcase model of this French supercar boasts an elegant body covered in a translucent blue lacquer that reveals the carbon fiber panel structure beneath. The Veyron Super Sport is powered by an 8.0-liter W16 engine producing around 1,200 horsepower, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. It rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. The Veyron Super Sport once held the title of the world’s fastest production car, though that record has since been overtaken by others.
SSC Ultimate Aero TT
The SSC Ultimate Aero TT is another impressive entry among the world’s fastest supercars. The company’s founder and the mastermind behind this powerful vehicle spent years developing a machine capable of challenging the top European models. After seven years of work, the SSC Ultimate Aero TT was born and has since been fine-tuned lots of times. This model features a powerful twin-turbo system, an upgraded fuel system, and an incredibly strong 6.4-liter engine. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. The exterior has also been tuned to maximize aerodynamics.
Porsche 9FF GT9-R
Rounding out the top 5 is the Porsche 9FF GT9-R — more than just a tuned 911, this is a true engineering challenge to the automotive world. When German company 9FF decided to rework the classic Porsche 911, the result exceeded all expectations: a hypercar capable of reaching 414 km/h, becoming one of the fastest production vehicles of its time. Based on the Porsche 997 GT3 platform, the GT9-R was heavily modified, including relocating the engine from the rear to the center of the car for better weight distribution and high-speed handling. Under the hood is a 4.0-liter flat-six twin-turbocharged engine producing 1,120 horsepower. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and hits 300 km/h in under 16 seconds. The GT9-R body is made of carbon fiber and Kevlar, and to enhance aerodynamics, the car’s length was increased and the roofline lowered. Only 20 units of the GT9-R were produced, making it a rare and collectible masterpiece of engineering.
