01.09.202607:35:34UTC+00Czechia Factory Growth Strongest Since 2022

The Czech Manufacturing PMI climbed to 54.1 in August 2026 from 52.2 in July, signaling the sharpest improvement in operating conditions since April 2022. Growth in both output and new orders accelerated, with total new business expanding at the fastest rate since February 2022, driven by stronger international demand. New export orders also rose solidly, although their growth slowed slightly compared with July.

Employment returned to growth as manufacturers responded to firmer demand, while backlogs of work accumulated at the quickest pace since December 2021, reflecting worsening supplier delays, material shortages, and logistics disruptions. Although input cost and output price inflation both eased, they remained elevated overall. Firms stepped up purchasing activity and built safety stocks, even as inventories of finished goods declined. Business confidence strengthened to a five-month high, underpinned by expectations of further demand growth and planned investment in machinery.
