02.03.202615:00:00UTC+00Mexico’s Manufacturing Slump Eases as S&P Global PMI Ticks Up in February

Mexico’s manufacturing sector showed signs of stabilisation in February 2026, as the S&P Global Manufacturing PMI rose to 47.10 from 46.30 in January, according to data updated on 2 March 2026.

While the index remained below the 50-point threshold that separates contraction from expansion, the uptick suggests the pace of decline in factory activity is easing. The improvement from January’s level indicates that some pressures weighing on the sector may be beginning to soften, although conditions are still challenging for manufacturers.

Investors and policymakers will now watch upcoming releases closely to see whether February’s reading marks the start of a sustained recovery in Mexico’s manufacturing cycle or just a temporary pause in the downturn.
